Youth represent the successors of the next generation; their education, energy, strength, and spirit play crucial roles in global development. Ear Chealeang, a Grade 12A student at American Intercon School’s TK campus during the 2022-2023 academic year, also served as a former exchange student in the United States during the 2021-2022 school year, where she showcased Cambodia’s culture to the world. Upon returning, she encountered some difficulties due to the differences in the education systems between the two countries. Despite these challenges, alongside her diligent studies, she remained committed to volunteer work, sharing her experiences with fellow Cambodians. Reflecting on her academic achievements, she graduated from high school with an “A” grade in the high school diploma exam.

“In the context of my grade 12 experience, she graciously shared her insights.”

“Everyone has different dreams, goals, and perspectives in life. Knowing how to set your goals and commit to them is essential for progress and success. After returning from the US, I encountered some obstacles. But I studied diligently, paid attention in class, took notes, dared to ask questions, learned to create schedules, reviewed lessons, and practiced exercises—all of which are crucial aspects of studying.”

In addition to my studies, I also participated in volunteer work and achieved straight A grades every month throughout the school year. This success wasn’t a coincidence; it resulted from my persistent efforts. I believe that having a to-do list and daily goals helps prioritize tasks and ensures completion before bedtime. While studying, it’s important not to overburden yourself, as excessive pressure can lead to a loss of motivation. Remember that health is the most critical factor. If you know you’ve passed, don’t waste your time."

Knowledge is the most valuable asset that no one can take away from you. I encourage other students to persevere, never give up on their dreams, and fight for their future. Regardless of the outcome, embrace it with a smile, knowing that this journey is long and this is just the beginning."
